First Day of Spring?

Wait, what's wrong with this picture? Just when we thought it was spring...we experience our first blizzard. Wednesday night, they issued a blizzard warning for late Thursday afternoon. So, at about Thursday 11:45, we decided to take the kids out to Walmart (Heath is on spring break) It was snowing when we left, but not too bad. After 45 min in Walmart, we started heading towards the exit. We couldn't see a thing out the door...just white. I'm learning now it's called a "white out." Within the short time we were in there, our car had already frozen over with ice, the temp. had dropped at least 20 degrees and the wind was blowing 40-50 mph. All I could think about was how in the world did our pioneer ancestors ever make it WALKING through this with wagons, children, pregnancies, etc. AMAZING. We got in the car but couldn't see 5 ft in front of our hood. It was all pretty exciting. The trip to Walmart usually takes about 7 minutes from our house. It took us 40 minutes to get home. I have never seen anything like this. The traffic has horrendous. Bumper to bumper for miles in front of us. We passed people stuck in the snow and we heard later about hundreds of accidents. When they said late afternoon, we imagined, 3 or 4 p.m....not 1

So, what have I learned? When there's a blizzard warning...don't leave the house, have a good set of tires and wind shield wipers, don't take your kids out if you do go out, have food and water in the house, always have a snow scraper in your car, wear a coat (Heath didn't), and just take it inches at a time.

We thankfully made it safely home. Jace loved every minute and Camden slept through it. So far, we've had 9 inches of snow and they say more to come.

Who's that cutie?

Camden is at such a fun age! Only a few weeks away from being 5 months old. I can't believe it. He's just so cute and funny right now. He blows bubbles all day, smiles all the time and I just love when he gives me that half little smirk. I love this stage where they really start interacting. We got a bumbo off Craigslist yesterday and he LOVES it. He started eating rice cereal a week ago and loves that too! I hope he gets to be chunky unlike my first, Jace. His sleeping is improving but still up a couple times at night. I can't seem to put him in jace's room yet in the crib. Mostly because I don't want Jace to wake up and bc I don't want to be tripping over myself to try and get Camden as soon as he starts crying. We'll get there. All in all, things seem a little brighter these days.
