Good Ol' AZ

Okay, so last weekend we went back to Arizona for a funeral. We were so busy but made time for a couple things.
Went to our cousin, Kelsey's baptism. She looked so beautiful and happy! We're so proud of you!

Saw my good friend, Amber. Our boys got to play together. (big and small -Our hubbies went to play bball together)And she was so sweet to watch Jace during the funeral. That was such a blessing.

Spent time with family!!!! Hanging out, laughing, eating, and more. .We had a really nice time with everyone.
Jace and his cousin, William played all the time!!! They were inseperable. They sure knew how to get into trouble together.

My sister in law, Autumn took some pictures of Camden--not posted yet. Can't wait to get them.

Went to the funeral, of course. This was at the luncheon afterwards. There were lots of babies there. Cam wasn't too happy then. My niece, Cheyanne is on the left. She wasn't feeling too good either. We found out later she has RSV. poor baby.

Can't forget the 14 hour car ride to AZ. We went all the way through over night and will never do that again. Whew, it was a lot of driving. The kids did great but the parents, well, we were zombies the next day. We got a hotel in Santa Fe for the way back. good choice.

Some other things we ENJOYED
Mangos!!! Need I say more...well, okay....a small little mexican food joint. Our favorite in downtown Mesa.
In and Out (we wanted to go to Cafe Rio and the Chuckbox but didn't quite make it)
Saw Ed and Nancy over dinner. Jace loves them!!
Went to our old ward and saw all our friends. It felt like we never left. When we walked in, I saw so many people in shock. It was quite fun to have that reaction.
Enjoyed amazing sunsets and great warm weather
Went and saw Inkheart with all the sisters. It was quite good--better than I thought it would be.

Tribute

Heath's Grandma FeFe (Eunice May Sheffield Reed) died on January 15,2009. We were able to go to Arizona for the funeral. I'm so lucky that I knew this sweet woman. Heath loves his grandma so much and it was always a joy to go over and see her. These pictures were taken right before we moved. She was having some rough times so we both had a feeling we probably wouldn't see her again. I'm getting teary just thinking of it, but when we left her bedside she just gave Heath the biggest hug and held him forever. She didn't want him to go. Heath gave the talk at the funeral and I thought I'd write some things down he said: She was a woman of faith, virtue, charity and dignity. He quoted the scripture in Cor. about charity and shared the story about the good Samaritan.

Here are some of her responses to some questions asked a while back.
What's your favorite color: "Mother always put us in blue, but I always wanted to wear pink." What's your favorite food: "If you put it in front of me, I'll eat it."

I feel grateful that we have people pass through our lives and leave imprints on our hearts. We love you Grandma!

Simple Joys of the day

What's been going on with us lately --

With the holidays over, we are trying to get back into a routine again. This last week seemed to be all doctor visits...one for Jace, me and one for Camden. His 2 month check up showed he is doing great. 9 lbs 8 oz and 22.5 inches.

On Wednesday, Heath celebrated the big 29. Neither of us can believe he's that old! Our sweet friends watched the kids for us so I could take Heath out for dessert! THANK YOU!!! That was the first time we'd been out together in about 6 months. It was really nice. He may think he's an old man, but he's my old man and I love him.

This morning we woke up to 5 inches of snow. I love it. There seems to be a stillness that comes when it snows. So, as a snow-in day, Jace and I made snowmen out of play-dough, sang winter songs and even created a wheather wheel. It was fun. Camden is doing so much better now that I've eliminated dairy from my diet. He cries much less. He has his occassional fussy days, but I expect that...he's just a gassy baby. I'm testing out soy milk this week to see if he does okay with that. The hardest part of this is trying to figure out new things to eat. It seems like everything has milk or cheese with it. Heath has been working full-time while he's out of school, but starts up again next week. I think he is anxious to start so he doesn't get in too much of a no-school mode. :0)

It's been such a joy to have a newborn around the house again. I find so much happiness in his sweet little smiles and coos. When he gives mommy some sleep, it's even better! Two nights ago he did a 6 hour stretch and i was THRILLED! I know my milk just goes right through him so he gets hungry so fast, but atleast he's learning a sleeping pattern at night. I think I figured out why mom's are always ready in the morning so early too....they have to be otherwise there's no other time to get it done. Oh, what a difference a shower makes! Jace is still being sweet to the baby and he and I both can't wait until they can interact more.

Christmas Fun!

This year, we had a GREAT California Christmas. It was so fun to be with all the family and especially with Jace's cousins. It was so fun seeing them interact and play together. Let's see, the girls taught Jace a couple things: Nanna Nanna Boo Boo, introduced him to Care Bears (the girls watched that movie almost every day), and showed him how to sit through a whole meal and actually EAT!!! Some of Jace's gifts included a Walle toy, cash register, doctor set, more tools, a Curious George movie and some other little things. We wanted to get him a bike this year but we couldn't do that in Cali and then back to Colorado. This Christmas was hard to get much together with the focus being on the new baby. I think I realized something about gifts for kids. They pretty much love opening presents and unwrapping anything they can get their hands on but when it comes down to it...they really only LOVE that one special toy or gift and end up playing with it mostly. Jace probably would've been happy with his minature cars and trucks, yet I felt like I had to go all out with the stockings and small presents. When they are this little, I think they only want to focus on one thing anyway. Hope I can remember this for next year...when Camden will be one and not even know what a stocking is!!!

CAMDEN was sure spoiled too...but not with presents. His aunts held him any moment of the day that I wasn't feeding him. Infact, I believe the correct senario included me nursing and then handing off the baby to the first eager open arms, which of course induced a few small fights over who gets him next. I LOVED seeing everyone love him and want to hold him. It was so nice. Now, I'm paying for it with a baby that never wants to be put down but we're trying to get back in the swing of things. I, of course, am missing family so much and realizing how much I want to live closer.

This move has been good in so many ways but truly I think Heath and I realized how important it is to us to have some family somewhat nearby. We had a blast doing the Christmas pageant (had to bribe Jace with egg nog to wear the outfit), playing Wii and Rock Star, frisbee golf - always a family favorite, we also had a field goal kicking contest, which Heath won - 35 yards!!! Went to the stake center and played bball with family friends while the kids played around and the women chatted, ate yummy food of course, and overall just enjoyed eachother's company!! The boys got in a few rounds of roof pong, as well.

Preview for now

I have so much to do today but I wanted to post a few preview pictures before I get into all our holiday fun!
